Shattered, assembled by Canadian designer Brent Comber, he creates furniture using wood in unusual ways. The wood pieces pattern cut into various contemporary geometric forms, and fit them together like puzzle pieces. It ends up the chaotic-yet-organize aesthetic.
This was my first piece inspired primarily by process, and the human need to create order out of chaos. I was curious to see if I could create random patterns by splitting, assembling, and juxtaposing different sizes, shapes, and grain patterns of wood, and whether human nature would compel me to create order out of such chaos.
The ‘Shattered’ has been installed in OBAKKI fashion store at sale counter with a neutral concrete finished background.
This inspired by the space in between trees in the forest, where plays of positive and negative shapes and the light against dark.
