New book by DMAA : DELUGAN MEISSL ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS – VOL.I
Austria-based architectural firm DMAA shared with us their new book: “DELUGAN MEISSL ASSOCIATED ARCHITECTS – VOL.I”. “VOL. I” is the first of Delugan Meissl’s monographic publication series. It includes a selection of 54 realized construction projects and competition entries, as well as urbanistic studies and interiors. The presentation of products from the Viennese office’s latest ‘Industrial Design’ line completes the profile of its broad practice.
The 700-page volume is in itself part of Delugan Meissl’s wide-ranging activity. The autonomous publication’s creative continuity displays a graphical and haptical homogeneity and aesthetic. It highlights works from Delugan Meissl Associated Architects’ overall creative activity to date. Early and partly unpublished projects and prominent buildings, like, for instance, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, the Film Museum in Amsterdam, as well as examples of social and private residential projects exemplify their professional development and creative plurality. Elucidatig texts, pictograms and plans complement the published projects, descriptively conveying them to the reader. With regards to content, the broad spectrum of disciplines is exemplified by numerous complemental images which simulate an imaginary journey into the architects’ creative world and open up new perceptions of the office’s hitherto oeuvre.
Over 320 colour images, project descriptions and layout plans contained in 9 chapters illustrate a descriptive cross-section of Delugan Meissl Associated Architects’ work universes. A contribution by the architectural theorist Kari Jormakka analyses the background of their design approach and elucidates its global and structurally comprehensive cohesion.
