Whether you have visited the Degree Shows Exhibition in Bangkok Design Festival 2010 during 20-30 Nov 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand. Here is the chance to take a look the installation and exhibition of the shows designed by Apostrophy’s.
Degree Shows is a yearly thesis exhibition which features the graduate work of the best students from the different fields of design ranging from architecture, interior design, product design, fashion design, graphic design, jewelry design and animation. The exhibition is organized by Bangkok Design festival, 2010. The location is on an open plaza at Central World Plaza shopping place.
The exhibition creates a zigzag space planning, created by the 1.2×1.2 plywood panels interlocking with each other. Each presentation is displayed on each panel which the visitors could stop and have a look while others could still pass through. 7 colors divide the exhibition into 7 zones according to the fields of design.
Each panel is 1.2×1.2 meters cut from 1.2×2.4 meter standard size of a plywood, to prevent waste from cutting. Each panel interlocks with each other to create a stronger structure and able to stand on its own. The experiment of its space and structure started from reusing expired invitation cards to test them to stand on its own by cutting 2 wholes on one side to interlock with each other. The card structure was able to stand by only that, and turns into larger by using plywood. The fluorescence lighting is used for each panel and color the space by putting printed stickers on the bulbs.
