Nemo Cassina lighting division presents its latest floor and hanging lamps
Meda (MB), January 2011 _ Nemo Cassina lighting division is a brand offering high-end designer lighting, whose bright pieces combine sleekness with vision. The division presents its latest creations in the field of floor and hanging lamps.
The pieces are the work of internationally-renowned designers – from Franco Albini, one of the great masters of Italian design, to Carlo Forcolini, another leading exponent of Italian creativity and co-founder of Nemo (together with Franco Cassina), from Israeli Liran Levi, to Danish Salto & Sigsgaard, to Italian Giancarlo Tintori. The decorative language of the five lamps is understated, a new take on contemporary classics, and defines them as potential new icons of lighting design.
8 ½ Omaggio a Constantin Brancusi | design: Carlo Forcolini
8 ½ Omaggio a Constantin Brancusi [8½ Homage to Constantin Brancusi] is a floor lamp that echoes the Romanian sculptor’s Infinite Column, reinterpreting it with a flowing silhouette and a sleek, modern chrome finish. A decorative piece, and a contemporary sculpture that tastefully diffuses its indirect light over elegant settings.
Upward-directed light
Materials and finishes: chrome-plated aluminium frame, glossy mirrored steel base.
Notes: touch dimmer incorporated into the body of the lamp
Dimensions: Ø base 36 cm, Ø body 10 cm, H 190 cm
AM2Z | design: Franco Albini, Franca Helg, Antonio Piva, Marco Albini
A classic among floor lamps, Franco Albini’s AM2Z is now available in new finishes. With an enchanting black chrome added to the standard or white chrome finishes, AM2Z offers two colour variations in line with contemporary trends in interior design, to elegantly accentuate high-class residential and public settings.
Upward-directed light
Materials and finishes: frame and diffuser in plain, black or white chrome
Dimensions: H 180 cm, diffuser Ø 40 cm, base Ø 37 cm
Silver Light | design: Liran Levi
Silver Light is a hanging lamp that combines refined, elegant high-end design with a playful, imaginative spirit. Eight asterisks, suggesting the delicate light of a starry sky, hang singularly or linked together, creating constellations that may be side-by-side, crossed-over, semicircular or circular.
LED bulbs
Materials and finishes: Body in die-cast aluminium, painted white. Individual light diffusers in opal polycarbonate.
Dimensions: Total Ø: 70 cm, total H: max 120 cm
Uma | design: Giancarlo Tintori
The classic chandelier has always been an imposing form of lighting, with its innumerable crystal pendants creating that special sparkle; in Uma, it finds a new expressivity, and a new dimension. This contemporary take on the chandelier comes in the form of a concentric cascade of methacrylate cones, offering the same lustre and visual magnificence as its traditional forebears, and an even greater sense of allure and mystique.
Fluorescent light
Materials: frame in steel, body in transparent methacrylate
Dimensions: Ø 100 cm, H 80 cm
Wet Bell | design: Kasper Salto & Thomas Sigsgaard
Curvilinear, mysterious, pure in its lines and in its choice of materials and finishes. Wet Bell is the hanging lamp that does not hang but is instead supported by a stem that descends from the ceiling. The elegantly flowing form of the stem outlines the shade (semi-ellipsoidal in shape, and made of turned aluminium with a sleek zapon lacquer finish) supporting it from below, and thus conferring remarkable visual lightness to Wet Bell.
