For the best candidates, SPD facilitates entry to its master’s courses in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Visual Design, Web Design and Car Design, with more substantial aid for the latter thanks to its collaboration with the Volkswagen Group.
The Scuola Politecnica di Design, which has long been committed to excellence in education for the creative professions, is offering ten scholarships for the 2011/12 academic year. The candidates who pass the selection phase will be asked to participate in the SPD master’s courses in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Visual Design, Web Design and Transportation Design with a full or partial scholarship. Special attention has been paid to scholarships for the Master’s in Car Design with a high number of positions, a commitment that has been possible thanks to the collaboration with the Volkswagen Group, the first worldwide producer to launch a five-year programme in Italy supporting the education of new talents.
To compete in the scholarship programme, graduates in these fields who have significant related academic or professional experience can send their CVs and a portfolio with a letter explaining why they are interested in participating in the programme. Following an individual interview, the committee composed of professors and the school management may request that the candidates submit a project in order to evaluate their motivation and design qualities.
The SPD Master’s courses are characterised by a close rapport with the professional world in the various areas of specialisation in order to train students in the future challenges of the job market. The workshops are a key moment in education and envisage the development of complex projects with the guidance of designers and professionals in various disciplines, in response to specific briefs defined with companies and partner institutions.
The programmes, conducted in English, target students from around the world who are part of a multicultural scenario. The master’s programmes require full-time attendance from October 2011 to November 2012. In the final three months the participants can test the skills they have acquired through internships or research projects.
