MAKEMEI has created these 3 modern pieces, the RD Table + Tipper + Koffie Table.
The RD Table is a solid American walnut coffee table finished in natural oil and beeswax.
The tilted area with a carved out surface is specially designed for displaying literature. Due to the precise detailing, the magazines/books sit angled, facing the user without slipping.
There is also a subtle push drawer with a stainless steel base.
This Koffie-Table is made of Maple Veneer that is rolled into shape with solid inlay edge of Maple wood.
The design concept was to work towards as a sculptural method of subtracting material in a simplistic style.
Tipper is a carbon fibre chair which was developed to test the materials’ structural limit.
The concept was to use a very tough, durable material to create something very soft and fluid. It has a thickness of 4mm giving the piece enough stability but maintaining the ability to flex for comfort.
