Competition entry: Aqueous shower by Christian Harrup Design
The principles behind the design were forged from consolidating the functions of a shower within a simple easily recognisable profile that reworks our perception of what a shower should look like.
There are two main functions that are behind Aqueous, a shower head and retractable shower unit concealed within one seemingly static sculptural form.
Rotating the main overhead shower head 90 degrees from the wall allows the shower head to activate. When rotated back the retractable shower unit can be used, this allows for two distinct functions to be controlled with minimal physical adjustment. The disk below the shower allows for flexibility regarding a desired position and ergonomic preference. The unique function of the disk is its malleable push function which controls both water pressure and hot and cold distribution. Pushing down the disk controls pressure, right for hot and cold for left.
Aqueous is finished in chrome or enamel finishes and envisioned to be a suite of bathroom appliances.
