A Seat called Ferula \ Calia Italia

• August 4, 2013

Calia Italia creates Ferula, the seat made of wood, ferulas and bands of leather or fabric.

Born from grandmothers’ skillful needlework and from the extraordinary materials that can be found locally, Ferula playfully combines jointed strips with needlework.

The wood-crafted framework has holes of different dimensions, designed to house the ferulas and to wrap the strips of upholstery of the seat, which can be selected from fabric or leather.

The seat has the shape of a round cushion in which ferulas are inserted to make the backrest.
